Process and assembly to replace defective subsoil mains drainage or sewage pipes

During the replacement and renewal of subsurface main drainage pipes, the old pipe material is stripped out and the surrounding soil is supported during the replacement of the mortar lining, using a linked combination of equipment carried by a vehicle (1). The equipment includes a mortar mixing machine, a remote control unit, a specialized pipe-fracturing machine (8), a sealing shield (4) in advance of which is a special pipe (5) incorporating a viewing window (5) or riser pipe (7) within the inlet pipe (2). The process differs from prior art in the preparation of the mortar, in the transmission of the mortar through to the pipe-fracturing machine (8) to the rear end of the pipe-breaking sheath, and by control of the rate of mortar flow.
