EGR valve for internal combustion engine

An EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve has at least one valve head connected to a valve stem that works together with a valve seat. It controls the connection of the exhaust channel to the induction pipe of an internal combustion engine. A computer processes operating parameters according to the operating state of the engine. It determines the opening position of the EGR valve by using a drive working against the force of a spring. The spring (8) loads the valve stem (6) in the opening direction. The position of the valve stem is given by a position answer-back signal to the computer. An elastic drive (2) of the EGR valve receives an electrical switching pulse from the computer when the ignition is switched on.
