A method of and an apparatus for manufacturing a semi-solidified metal, wherein a predetermined quantity of a molten metal (12) is supplied to a heat insulating crucible (18) and then a metal (46) cooled to a predetermined temperature not higher than a temperature of this molten metal (12), being immersed in the same molten metal (12) and rotated, so that the molten metal (12) is stirred as it is cooled with no directivity, to cause a generally homogeneous, effectively slurried semi-solidified metal (20) to be obtained, the semi-solidified metal (20) being taken out from the heat insulating crucible (18), supplied to a molding machine (22) and subjected to a molding process, whereby a desired slurry can be manufactured efficiently and economically.
