<p>The invention relates to the use of a proline-rich sequence to improve the fusogenic character of a protein comprising a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of an amphotropic MLV or a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of an MLV 10A1 or a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a GALV or a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a xenotropic MLV or a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a MLV MCF or a retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a FeLV. Said proline-rich sequence corresponds either to the proline-rich sequence of the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of an amphotropic MLV, the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of an MLV MCF, the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a GALV, the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a xenotropic MLV or the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of a FeLV, and contains at least one mutation which suppresses at least one β-turn in the polyproline helix of the proline-rich sequence, or to the proline-rich sequence of the retroviral envelope glycoprotein of an ecotropic MLV.</p> |
