The gearbox (1) has adjusting elements operable by a pressurized medium which work upon gearbox operating elements to adjust or change a transmission ratio and/or a starting element. It has at least one adjusting element that is operable by a pressurized medium supplied with the same by at least one reversing pump. The gearbox gives a continuously variable range of ratios and is designed with discrete transmission stages. At least one adjusting element, operable by pressurized medium, operates at least one gearbox operating element, whereby a selection of shift alley and a shift of step-up ratios in the shift alleys takes place. A gearbox operating element is a disc set adjusting element and/or a clutch operating element and/or a gear shift element.
