Motor drive system for vehicle windows

The system uses two relays to regulate the motor rotation direction, with a transient motor standstill period between direction changeover. The drive system include a first relay (2) and a second relay (3), that arrange for rotating the motor (1) in the normal and reverse directions, in response to the operation of the associated switch contacts (4,21) of the first relay. This is selectively actuated when the second relay is de-energized. As the switch contacts of the first relay are operated, the energisation of the second relay coil (3a) is maintained briefly by a by-pass circuit (30). In this way the actuation of the second relay is stopped only after the actuation of the first relay coil (2b), so that there is a transient motor standstill period between the two conditions.
