Controlled-slip hydraulic braking system for road vehicles

A non-pumping hydraulic pressure unit (38) develops braking force. It is hydraulically-decoupled from a sensor (10) measuring desired braking force. The master cylinder (40) is connected to a power-assisted braking unit (42), brakes (54, 58, 64, 68) and an expansion chamber (84) accepting fluid released from them. Each brake can be isolated from the master cylinder and the expansion chamber. During the forward stroke, the hydraulic pressurization unit (38) forces hydraulic fluid to the brakes. During the return stroke this unit extracts the hydraulic fluid isolated, from the expansion chamber. An Independent claim is included for corresponding brake operation.
