PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyimide which effects a crosslinking reaction even when baked at a low temperature by using a polyamic acid made from a (di) amino compound having a specified structure and to obtain a liquid crystal orientation film made therefrom. SOLUTION: There is provided a polyamic acid comprising structural units represented by formulas I and II and terminated with an amino group, an acid anhydride group, a carboxyl group being a hydrolyzate thereof, or a group represented by formula III or IV. In the formulae, G<3> and G<4> are each a 4-30C tetravalent organic group; G<5> is formula V; G<7> is a 2-20C trivalent organic group; G<8> is a single bond, -C(O)-, -CH2 -, -OCH2 -, or the like; G<6> is a divalent residue of such as a 2-12C aliphatic compound or formula VI; R<99> is a 1-6C alkylene or the like; R<100> is a 1-3C alkyl or the like: b, c, and d are each 0 or positive, provided that 1<=b+c+d<=100; G<1> is a single bond, a 1-20C divalent organic group; G<2> is 2-, 3-, or 4-vinylphenyl; Z is a 2-10C alkylene or the like; R<45> is a 1-10C alkyl or the like; R<46> is a 1-10C alkyl or the like; and m is 1-3. |
