PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical character reading device by which a mark entered in a mark entering blank, which is not correctly recognized, is correctly recognized and burden on an operator is relieved. SOLUTION: This is an optical character reading device for judging whether or not marks are entered in plural mark entering blanks arranged in a slip. The above device is provided with a mark entering blank reading means 2 for reading plural mark entering blanks arranged in the slip, a mark recognizing means 3 for recognizing whether a picture element indicating the presence of the mark exists or not in the mark entering blank which is read by the mark entering blank reading means 2 and a mark entering blank number comparing means 4 for previously setting the number of the mark entering blanks where the marks are to be entered and for comparing the number of the mar entering blanks where marks are recognized to have entered by the mark recognizing means 3 with the previously set number. |
