摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect and disconnect an extension device through the existing communication line without through any exclusive communication line. SOLUTION: An occupant detection device 10 for detecting the state of an occupant on a seat is connected to an air bag control device 30 through a communication line L11. The air bag control device 30 controls the operation and expansion speed of air bag drive parts 21 and 22 based on the presence or absence and posture of the occupant input from the occupant detection device 10. An air bag operation selection device 50 for selecting either part to be driven from among the plurality of air bag drive parts 21 and 22 is connected to the air bag control device 30 through a communication line L12 connected in parallel with the communication line L11. The air bag control device 30, based on the air bag drive selection data set by the air bag operation selection device 50, controls the driving of the air bag drive parts 21 and 22, identifies whether the air bag operation selection device 50 is connected or not using the communication lines L11 and L12, and stores an installation flag showing the connection/ disconnection in an EEPROM 35. Each time an ignition switch is turned on, the connection/disconnection of the air bag operation selection device 50 is identified based on the installation flag stored in the EEPROM 35.
