INDUCTION PROMOTER USABLE IN SCHIZOSACCHAROMYCES POMBE, INDUCIBLE EXPRESSION VECTOR AND THEIR USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject new promoter comprising a DNA participating in the catabolite repression in an invertase gene of a fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, capable of controlling the production timing of protein and usable in the above yeast. SOLUTION: This new induction promoter is composed of a DNA of a gene region participating in the catabol.ite repression in an invertase gene of a fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe and expressed by the base sequence of the 1st to the 2,809th bases of the sequence table of the formula. The promoter acts as an inducible expression vector for the production of protein, controls the gene expression by the presence or absence of a specific nutrient source and enables the control of the production timing of the objective protein. The DNA can be produced by carrying out PCR reaction of a cDNA library of the above fission yeast with a primer obtained from an invertase gene originated from another organism and screening a genom library of the above yeast by using the PCR reaction product as a probe.
