PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of dealing with high density recording by using a short wavelength and excellent in jitter characteristics, and to provide the recording method for the medium. SOLUTION: In this optical medium whose recording and/or reproducing wavelength is 600 to 680 nm, which has a recording layer containing organic dystuff on a substrate having a groove and whose track pitch is <=0.8 μm, A×B is defined as 0.035 to 0.06 and C/A is defined as 2 to 3.5 when A (μm) is the depth of the groove, B (μm) is the width of the groove and C is the leveling rate of the recording layer. In this case, the leveling rate = [the thickness (μm) of the recording layer of the groove - the thickness (μm) of the recording layer of the groove of the land section]/the depth (μm) of the groove. |
