PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power saving effect due to the sleep state of a CPU by preparing a timer which can operate, even if the CPU is set in a sleep state. SOLUTION: A timer consists of a counter 6 and a clock device 8 that is prepared separately from an internal timer 7 of a CPU 5. Thus, is capable of being taken accurate timing for registering a cyclic position even during the sleep state of the CPU 5.
