PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by stopping a discharge maintaining pulse to a weighted video signal of the line, when there is no video signal in a display drive unit for a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: During a blanking period of a video signal, a video signal discrimination circuit 9 superimposing information on the presence or absence of a weighted video signal of the line and information on the presence or absence of the video signal are permanently monitored, and when there is no video signal, a mute circuit 10 is formed for stopping a discharge maintaining pulse to the weighted video signal of the line. |
