The invention relates to a device for transdermally exerting a defined pressure on subcutaneous tissue, especially where cellulite is present. The invention is characterised in that the device is used to produce a jet pressure of 1 to 20 bar so that no mechanical contact is necessary between the device and the skin. The inventive device also has at least one nozzle for a fluid medium. The invention also relates to a cosmetic method for smoothing out cellulite by exerting regional, especially sub-regional transdermal pressure on an area of skin to be treated with 1 to 50 kg/cm<2> skin and optionally, repeating the process at least once.
