PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a separator having a sufficient conductivity and a gas impermeability according to an easy manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Material powder composed of carbon powder and binder is prepared, first of all, in order to manufacture a separator (step S100). A quantity of the binder used in this step is less than a theoretical quantity of the binder required theoretically to close a cavity formed inside of a carbon member obtained by press molding on the assumption that only the carbon powder is press molded in the conditions of heat press molding carried out later. A separator member is obtained by heat press molding the prepared material powder in a die. The separator member is impregnated with a prescribed impregnant (step S130), then the separator is finished by heat curing the impregnant after cleaning its surface. |
