<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set in addition a signal line used to control an existing permanent virtual circuit channel(PVC) to it, without setting the PVC channel again attended with the difficulty of information management and the progress of the software technology due to an extended network and the requirements of a control signal line, having a sophisticated control function in an ATM network providing the PVC channel. SOLUTION: A maintenance personnel uses a console 151 to collect contained positions of ATM switches 104-106 in each ATM exchange of a PVC channel 131 as to each of the ATM exchanges 101-103, through which the PVC channel 131 passes, to decide a contained position of control signal lines 141, 142 to be newly corresponding to the PVC channel 131, and to give commands 161-163 with data set on them to each of the ATM exchanges 101,.... Thus, each of the ATM exchanges 101-103 sets the control signal lines 141, 142.</p> |
