Powder for protecting centrifugal moulds for cast iron pipes and process for producing said powder

The use of a silicon alloy, obtained from the residues of a Rochow reaction, mixed with an inert material such as silica or fluorinated silica, for the protection of the shells of centrifuged flow moulds for cast iron tubes. The powder protective material comprises a mixture of mineral powder and an innoculating agent based on silicon.At least part of the silicon is provided by used residues from the synthesis of silicones from alkyl- or aryl-halogenosilanes. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of these materials.
