PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse compression radar system which is improved in distance measuring accuracy and target detecting ability. SOLUTION: A pulse compression radar system is provided with a travel speed extracting means 51 to find the travel speed of a target from pulse compression data and also a chirp signal factor calculating means 52 and a pulse compression factor calculating means 53 to set the optimum chip system so that pulse compression losses may become the minimum in accordance with the travel speed of the target and to calculate the optimum chirp signal factor and pulse compression factor based on the set chirp system.
