PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor provided with a direct cylinder injection engine which can be started as quickly as possible even by a starter motor of small drive force. SOLUTION: Fuel in a fuel tank 41 set up outside an outboard motor 1 is supplied by a low pressure pump 44 to a vapor separator tank 45 provided in the outboard motor. At ordinary operation time, fuel in the vapor separator tank, boosting a pressure in a pre-load pump 46, is fed to a high pressure pump 47, a pressure of fuel is further boosted by this high pressure pump, the fuel is supplied to an injector 18, to be injected in a cylinder 6 from this injector. This high pressure pump is driven to be interlocked with a crankshaft 3, and the pre-load pump is driven by a battery 76. In the beginning of starting of an engine, by a pressure of the pre-load pump, fuel is injected in the cylinder from the injector. |
