The present invention makes it possible for a user to share a virtual three dimensional space consisting of a plurality of media in a large wide-area network which includes a wide-band/ high-speed network (101) and narrow-band/ low-speed network (103), without causing congestion in the network. The present invention include a multicast message transmitting unit (111) and multicast message receiving unit (108) for performing multicast communication in the wide-band/ high-speed network (101), a unicast message transmitting unit (112) and unicast message receiving unit (106) for performing unicast communication in the narrow-band/low-speed network (103). A multicast group managing unit (107), multicast message generating unit (110) and unicast message generating unit (109) coordinate the unicast communication and the multicast communication. A message thinning/ re-assembling unit (113) reduces the communication traffic in the narrow-band/low-speed network (103), and the wide-band, high-speed network (101) and the low-band/low-speed network (102) are provided with respective terminals (102, 104) for sharing three dimensional virtual environment. <IMAGE> |
