A radioactive chamber (3) used to correct transmission attenuation is mounted on a support (7) by a joint face (9) which is at 45 degrees to the support axis. The direction of the chamber (3) may be altered by 90 degrees by a rotation of 180 degrees about a fixing screw (10), studs (17) providing location. The internal mechanical drive to the chamber (3) is provided by two position conical pinions.
