PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an editing device that connects two compressed image streams generated by a moving picture experts group(MPEG) system, at a midway frame of group of pictures(GOP) that is the unit of coding. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a decoding means 3 that decodes an image compressed stream including a GOPA, having each editing point, outputted from an image storage means 6 storing image compressed stream from an input means 1 and either of a front or rear GOPB in continuity with the GOPA, a re-coding means 4 that receives an output of the decoding means, receives an output of an image data storage means 5 which at least stores an image data part consisting of a completed GOP and a signal up to a 1st editing point in the GOP in succession to the completed GOP and having the 1st editing point and an image data part consisting of a signal after a 2nd editing point in the GOP having the 2nd editing point and the completed GOP in succession to the former GOP for re-coding a steam connecting point and combines the GOPA, GOPB to obtain two new variable length GOP, and a control means 2. |
