PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. which can produce a magnetic recording medium excellent in running durability, still life, and weatherability by mixing a carboxylic acid compd. with a dicarboxylic acid compd. SOLUTION: A compd. of formula I and a compd. of formula II are mixed, usually in a wt. ratio of (5/95)-(80/20). In the formulas, R<1> and R<3> are each an optionally fluorine-contg. higher aliph. hydrocarbon residue; and R<2> , R<4> , and R<5> are each an optionally fluorine- and/or oxygen-contg. aliph. hydrocarbon residue provided at least either R<4> or R<5> is an optionally oxygen-contg., fluorine- contg. aliph. hydrocarbon residue. Among compds. of formula I, compds. of formula III (wherein R<8> is 13C alkyl; R<9> is a 2-6C methylene chain; and Rf is 7-20C perfluoroalkyl) are novel compds. |
