METHOD FOR ADJUSTING VISCOSITY OF SOLVENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the viscosity of a fluid by using a silicone latex from which the constituent water has not been removed. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for adjusting the viscosity of a solvent, which comprises the steps of: (I) adding a solvent to a silicone latex containing water and a plurality of cured crosslinked polysiloxane particles after the particles are being cured without removing the water from the latex; (II) thickening the solvent by mixing the latex containing water and the cured particles with the solvent; and (III) stabilizing the water in the solvent thickened with the latex by adding a silicone polyether in step (II).
