PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce information of binary image data by successively acquiring signal charge that is separately produced in accordance with incident light with a row as the unit producing two-dimensional binary data for each row, deciding whether or not 'data that shows logical value which is preliminarily defined' in the binary data and performing similar decision in binary data that corresponds to the same column. SOLUTION: When a vertical scan circuit 3 makes a drive pulse a high level in each pixel 2, a photodiode PD detects incident light and produces signal charge in a frame unit. When a drive pulse ϕTG is made a low level, a transistor for transfer becomes conductive and the signal charge is transferred to a gate of a transistor which outputs an electric signal that corresponds to the signal charge. Binarized image data that is produced by a binary circuit 4 is handled in row unit and in column unit and can produce binary information of a bit number that corresponds to '(number of rows)+(number of columns)' as information that shows a characteristic of the binary image data. |
