PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet detection system capable of certainly detecting the ink droplet ejected from a nozzle orifice even when the head cover covering the peripheral end part of a nozzle surface is provided by forming the end part of the head cover into a tapered shape. SOLUTION: In a liquid droplet detection system equipped with an illumination lamp 11 obliquely irradiating a nozzle surface 3 having nozzle orifices 2 formed thereto with light and a CCD camera 12 detecting the light reflected from the nozzle surface 3 and passed through the flight route of the ink droplet ejected from each of the nozzle orifices 2 to take the image of the ink droplet and detecting the liquid droplet ejected from each of the nozzle orifices of the nozzle surface 3 of which the peripheral end part is covered with a head cover 4, the end part of the head cover 4 is formed so that the shade by irradiated light of the end part on the side of the nozzle surface of the head cover 4 is not generated in the exposure part of the nozzle surface 3. For example, the end part on the side of the nozzle surface 3 of the head cover 4 is formed into a tapered shape becoming thin toward the exposure part of the nozzle surface 3. The head cover 4 may be formed of a transparent material. |
