DEVICE FOR CUTTING-OUT AND REMOVAL OF DEFECTIVE SECTIONS IN OPERATING PIPE LINE

FIELD: pipe line transportation of liquid and gases; cutting-out defective sections in operating pipe lines without reducing pressure inside it. SUBSTANCE: device has centering rod used as gripping fixture; rod has collet at its end which is welded to defective section. Adapter branch pipe welded to pipe line concentrically relative to rod has external and internal taper threads; its flange is provided with gate valve. Device secured on gate valve is used for cutting-out and removal of defective section; it consists of sleeve with seal at the end through which spindle with cutter at lower end passes; other end of spindle carries drives for rotating and feeding the cutter. Lateral surface of cutter has helical grooves. Other end of spindle has taper end-piece for connecting the drive (either power or manual). Centering rod with collet at the end is mounted in hole at the end of spindle and is locked by means of tabs of collet. Device is also provided with unit for blanking off hole formed after cutting-out and removal of defective section; this unit includes seal at the end, wrench with fixing member and plug with taper thread located inside sleeve.
