FIELD: equipment for thermal treatment of metals and alloys, in particular, for annealing, normalizing gaged steel from intercritical temperature interval and for thermal improvement, such as quenching and tempering of gaged steel. SUBSTANCE: thermal treatment apparatus has tempering inductor and sprayer positioned behind inductor and allowing cyclic thermal treatment with two austenitization operations to be performed when required. Cold metal wire may be wound in coils. Pushing device is positioned in front of tempering inductor and adapted for facilitating wire charging before each starting of line. Forming bushing is not employed in apparatus due to usage of gaged metal. Such construction allows different types of thermal treatment operations to be performed without necessity for substantial readjustment.
