The self ballasting tank includes a metal structure comprising two parts and a cylindrical body. It is entirely covered with a concrete coating (2) enabling access to the hatch (13) and has hanger (14). The concrete coating is made with a formwork defining feet (21) on the concrete coating. The coating is made so as to have zones connected to the feet in order to give a superimposable and modular configuration to the body. It has a variable thickness according to the tank zones so that the whole is self-ballasted in its operational position.
