The apparatus consists of a chamber (3) large enough to receive the article (2) to be disinfected, made from panels (11) attached to a frame made from tubing (10a, 10b) with nozzles for spraying the disinfectant or rinsing water onto the article. The frame is connected up to a mixer unit in a housing (5) linked to a water supply and to a container (28) of a cleaning or disinfectant product. The frame is e.g. of stainless steel tubing, and is mounted on self-steering wheels (6).
