The lock comprises a plate (4) with a drive mechanism to actuate at least two bolts (2) through a coupling (6) which has two apertures (13a, 13b) for each bolt which lie symmetrically relative to the lengthwise axis of the plate. The plate also has two symmetrical apertures (12a, 12b) which partially coincide with the apertures in the coupling to form guides for a drive member (10) with a roller (11) and pivot (14).
