<p>The connector for two adjacent sections (3,3') of a handrail (2) comprises connecting pieces (4,4') fitted into the ends of the handrail sections, generally cylindrical in shape and engaging through contact surfaces (6) lying at 45 degrees to the connecting pieces' axes. The connecting pieces are joined together by a fixing screw (7) which acts as an axis of rotation and a lock, while being accessible through an aperture in the outer surface of one of the connecting pieces, The connecting pieces have rounded outer surfaces, and the hole for the fixing screw lies perpendicular to the plane connecting their two faces. They are attached to the ends of the handrail sections by lateral fixings or axial screws with expanders, depending on whether the handrail sections are solid or hollow.</p> |
