The supports (2) for the friezes can be assembled with the aid of connecting components (3a,3b) to form interconnected frames. A frieze can be fitted on a support of the support construction (1) parallel to its longitudinal direction (17) and on the upper side of the support. The supports when viewed in cross-section have a U-shaped profile, which is open to the floor surface. The free ends (11,12) of the U-profile continue into edge sections (13,14), the edge ends (15,16) of which are directed towards the center of the U-profile. The friezes have recesses on both sides in which the edge ends engage. The two connecting components (3a,3b) connected with a support can be pushed one in the other and in the inserted state can be fixed releasably to one another with the aid of a fixture device.
