The tube cutting tool (1) has a cutting element (4) and an adjustable clamping part (11). The clamping part is connected to a spindle setting device (S), by means of which the coarse and fine stages of the fine adjustment can be made. The spindle setting device controls the fine setting. The spindle (8) may have a control cam, able to over-run in the first turning direction, to control a counter-thread component (14) in the second turning direction.
