The cigarette lighter plug has two pivotably connected sections (10,12) and a spreader for securing the plug in a socket of a cigarette lighter. A spreader cam inside the front section (10) and on the axis of the rear section (12) is rotatable when the rear section is pivoted. Two spreadable clamping jaws (22,24) rest in contact with the cam from opposite sides.
