Hair decorated in lock are described, in particular for cosmetic applications, which have complex and clear-cut coloured designs and are obtainable by a process which comprises the steps of reproducing a decorating pattern onto a support by a printing process that utilises a sublimation transfer ink, producing an inked surface onto the support; placing in extension a lock of hair in contact to said inked surface; heating the support causing the sublimation of the ink and the transfer of the decorating pattern onto the lock of hair.
