<p>It is the object of the present invention to provide a bone-specific medicament for local use that accelerates and enhances bone regeneration in fractures and other injuries. This medicament includes a therapeutically effective amount of HB-GAM in combination with a carrier. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the carrier is solid and absorbable. One preferred embodiment of the invention is to provide the medicament in the form of a synthetic bone graft, which can be inserted to the desired side surgically. Another preferred embodiment of the invention is to provide the medicament in the form of solid particles, which can be inserted to the desired site by other means than open surgery, e.g. injection.</p> |
