The cooling fan (10) has a frame (12) which has a guide apparatus (14) with an electric motor fastened to it which drives an impeller (18). Into the frame is integrated a control apparatus (20) for the motor. The control apparatus is fastened to the guide apparatus in the air flow of the impeller. The control apparatus supports one or more struts (22-28) in the frame in their function and/or replaces them. The electric motor and the control apparatus are joined via only one interface (30) to the car. The control apparatus limits the electric motor in its loading. Cables (60-64) are guided in bundled fashion along a periphery (32).
