The connection between muffler (1) and engine allows for exhaust rotation relative the rigid engine axis by means of a swivel joint. A rigid holder (4) is fixed to the engine and holder and muffler are tensioned to one another by an encircling tension band (5), which is elastic at the holder (4) and the muffler bearing on the holder allows the muffler to move in the band (5) sense in relation to the holder (4). The muffler to holder bearing is in point or line form between the dissimilar curvatures of the adjoining surfaces.
