The invention relates to a stand for height-adjustable support of an object such as a sun ray lamp of a sunbed. The stand (1) comprises a substantially rectangular frame (3) which can be placed flat on a horizontal surface and an arm (5) which is connected with a bottom end to the frame (3) close to a corner of the frame for pivoting round a pivot shaft extending substantially parallel to an adjacent side of the rectangular frame and which carries the object on its free end. <IMAGE>
