A transport and storage tank for liquids consists of an outer metal casing (2) and inner plastic tank with an inlet and outlet. The plastic tank rests on a metal pan (17) and frame. The plastic tank is covered by a removable hatch. The lower frame serves as the interface for a range of mechanical handling devices such as fork lift trucks, shelf-stacking machinery and similar. The lower frame (13) has four corner feet (14), four corner pieces (15) fixed to the base frame, a holding frame (16) positioned on the base frame and metal pan. The tank can be removed from the frame and exchanged. The base (18) of the base-pan has an aperture (20) in the sole (19) through which the plastic tank drain outlet (7) projects. The outlet is connected to a pipe (8) and tap (9).
