The invention concerns a drive shaft 2 for chain conveyors for the horizontal transportation of bagasse through a sugar cane diffuser, with chain pinions 17 for the chain drive, at least one bearing at each of the shaft ends and a mounting 10 for the diffuser drive 12. In order to render possible the production of such a drive shaft in the workshop of the sugar factory, it is proposed according to the invention that the said mounting 10 is a flange connection composed of steel plate, which is welded to one end of the shaft 2 and is connected to a large chain wheel 12, forming the diffuser drive and directly mounted on the drive shaft 2, which has a diameter of several metres, is produced by welding from steel plate panels and has a steel ring 13, forming its outer casing, on to which are welded the chain teeth 14, composed of steel plate, and through which at least one drive chain 16 is driven by a chain pinion 17 which is rotationally connected to an electric or hydraulic motor. |
