PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply housing for ink jet printer in which detection of low ink level is improved. SOLUTION: A housing 17 is sectioned into first and second chambers 40, 42 by a partitioner 44. The first chamber 40 includes an ink holding member 46 normally made of a foamed material. A liquid ink 48 stored in the second chamber 42 substantially including no ink holding material moves through an ink inlet 41 defined by the partitioner 44 to the ink holding member 46. A series of parallel ribs 70 formed, preferably by molding process, on the bottom bed 54 of the housing extend toward the ink inlet 41 to touch the ink holding member 46. |
