PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately set an object originally intended by a photographer, and to focus on the set object. SOLUTION: The optical device is provided with a distance distribution measuring part 51 for classifying the picked-up image in every area based on a prescribed condition, a main object area detecting part 52 for calculating the degree of the main object in every area classified by the measuring part 51 under a prescribed calculation and deciding the main object area out of the aforesaid area based on the obtained main object degree, a main object area changing part 53 for changing the main object area to another area, and a focal distance deciding part 54 for focusing on the main object area. |
