摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the memory capacity of a B frame to store reproduced data to the memory for each field by decoding one frame in an image data decoder. SOLUTION: First, second and third memory areas (BY1, BY2, BY3) for luminance data of a B frame are provided within a field. An upper half image of the B frame is decoded, data of a 1st field are written in the 1st memory area, data of a 2nd field are written in the 2nd memory, then the lower half image of the B frame is decoded, the data of the 1st field are written in the 1st memory area, data of the 2nd field are written in the 3rd memory area. Simultaneously data of the upper half image and the lower half image of the 1st field are read from the 1st memory area and the lower half image data of the 1st field are written to an area from which data of the upper half image have been read sequentially. Then a memory access control section 19 acts as reading the upper half image of the 2nd field from the 2nd memory area and then the data of the lower half image from the 3rd memory area.
