摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink droplet diameter controlling method and an ink jet recording head always stably ejecting ink droplets different in diameter from the same nozzle in spite of simple constitution to enable high grade printing recording in arbitrary gradation. SOLUTION: When the time raising drive voltage to a predetermined peak voltage is, for example, 1/2 the inherent cycle of an ink flow path 10 having at least one pressure chamber 11 or more, the diameter of an ink droplet emitted by changing the rising time of the drive voltage supplied to a pressure generating means 16 and the peak voltage is arbitrarily set. In this case, the time from the start of the rising of drive voltage to the start of the falling thereof is allowed to coincide with the inherent cycle of the ink flow path 10 or, when the rising time of the drive voltage exceeds the inherent cycle of the ink flow path 10, the rising time is changed so as to become an arbitrary integral multiple.
