PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recycle a granular material to promote its washing and to promote the removal of impurities from cake by fitting baffles to a conveyor and providing the baffles on the upstream side with a concave profile, e.g. a recessed surface, directed toward the direction opposite to a discharge port on the downstream side. SOLUTION: This centrifuge is provided with a conveyor 34 for moving cake 36 toward a cake discharge port 40 along a spiral cake flow passage (shown as the arrow 38 of a cake velocity). Further, the centrifuge is provided with a series of baffles 42, e.g. cake agitating blades, fitted to the conveyor 34. Each of the baffles 42 has an almost cylindrical recessed surface on the respective upstream side of the conveyor 34, directed to ward the direction almost opposite to an outlet opening port 40. This recessed surface plays a roll in directing a part of the cake 36 facing a downstream along the cake flow passage 38 toward a loop-shaped recycling path, e.g. an agitating path. Then, the recycling, e.g. the agitation of the granular material causes additional shear and system reorganization of a cake matrix. |
