摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a burning type flux for submerged arc welding with excellent moisture absorption resistance, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: In this burning type flux for submerged arc welding, a welding slag generated after submerged arc welding is blended at 10-90 wt.% as one part of flux source powder, and the flux has a specific surface area of 0.3 m<2> /cm<3> or less after firing. The content of Li2 O, Na2 O, and K2 O is preferably 3 wt.% or less in total. Thus, moisture absorption resistance and pot mark resistance are improved. The welding slag to be blended is preferably to be welding slag powder with particle size of 300μm or less and specific surface area of 0.1-0.5 cm<2> /g. Burning is preferably carried out at 650 deg.C or more.
