PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new high-quality strain of Pleurotus eryngii markedly reduced in blighted phenomena, and enabling the culture cycle of its own to be shortened, by hydridization between each specific 1st and 2nd Pleurotus eryngii so as to have incompatibility factor A1B1A3B3 or the like. SOLUTION: This new strain is obtained by hybridiztttion between 1st Pleurotus eryngii (FERM P-15292) containing < 20 wt.% of trehalose on a dry basis and having incompatibility factor A1B1A2B2 and 2nd Pleurotus eryngii (FERM P-15293) containing >=20 wt.% of trehalose on a dry basis and having incompatibility factor A13B13A4B4 so as to have either one of the following incompatibility factors: A1B1A3B3, A1B1A3B4, A1B1A4B3, A1B1A4B4, A1B2A3B3, A1B2AeB4, A1B2A4B3, A1B2A4B4, A2B1A3B3, and the like. By the way, the new strain having incompatibility factor A1B2A4B4 has been deposited as FERM P-15267. |
